System build-up: “Roof Garden“ with Floradrain® FD 40-E

The Victoria Centre Roof Garden is situated on the fourth floor of a multiuse and multi-storey commercial and housing complex in the centre of Nottingham. It was built for the residents of the Victoria Centre flats as a meeting point, providing outside community space with various seating areas to meet, sit and relax and enjoy the “green amongst the grey”. The residents also take over the care and maintenance of the garden for the benefit of social life. In addition, raised beds are available to the residents to grow their own plants. The “Roof garden” build-up with Floradrain® FD 40-E suitable for greened and paved areas was laid over the entire surface to achieve a good drainage of the whole podium. Semi-intensive vegetation as well as bushes and small trees where chosen to create a colourful roof garden also providing beautiful views from the apartments rising up high around this green oasis.
